1986 36' Tiara Yachts 3600 Open

"Makaira" is a very special example of the popular Tiara 3600 Open. The boat underwent a major refit by her current owner about 10 years ago. At that time she was refitted with new Caterpillar [removed phone]hp) diesel engines, Northern Lights generator, custom fiberglass hardtop, all new custom made lightweight helm deck seating, new electronics, new teak and holly cabin sole and so much more. The interior is in teak and features an island berth forward with private access to the head and shower. No expense has been spared on this vessel over the years. If you are in the market for a older classic Tiara, then this is a must see; there is not be a finer example available anywhere.
 
Model History
Tiara Yachts is one of the most respected builders of high quality boats in the United States. Their attention to detail in design and manufacturing has elevated the Tiara brand to the "top shelf" of the marine industry. This family owned company is the benchmark by which most other boats of this style are judged. The 3600 Open was introduced in 1985 and was the queen of the fleet for many years. Her long eleven year production run is a great testament to her enduring popularity. During her production, the only major change that was made to the boat was the addition of an optional interior. The standard interior featured a double island berth forward with a forward head while the option was an offset forward berth with aft head. ("Markaira" has the standard interior in teak). Power options for the boat included 350hp gas engines or 375hp diesel engines. Production ended in 1996 when the 3600 was replaced by all-new 3700 Open.Construction
Tiara uses premium polyester resins along with the finest in E-glass knitted fiberglass cloth in the layup of their products. The 3600's hull is solid fiberglass below the waterline and is cored with Baltek balsa core in the hull sides above the waterline. The hull has 14 degrees of deadrise at the transom and features two running strakes and reversed chines.The stringers are a grid system design made of hand-laid fiberglass and cored with marine grade plywood. The deck layup is similar to the hull's except the balsa coring is used to stiffen the walking areas of the deck. The hull to deck joint is a "shoe box" style that is chemically and mechanically fastened and is covered with a stainless steel rub rail. The entire boat is hand-laid to the highest standards.
